May 26, 2011 - Prom Night

Tonight is Melanie's prom and she looked so beautiful.  Garrett looked handsome in his tux and was such a gentleman to arrive with a beautiful coursage for Mel.  The weather was terrible, rainy all day so that messed me up for photos.  So here are a few from this special day.





May 19, 2011 - Our First Hummingbird

Today we put out our hummingbird feeders and the first hummingbird arrived today!  I just love these little creatures.  Some interesting facts about hummingsbirds:
- smallest bird in the world
- they can hear better than humans
- a hummingbird's baby is about the size of a penny
- they can remember every flower they have been to
- their heart beats 1,260 times per minute



May 15, 2011 - One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism....

Today my grandson, Aidan was christened.  He did so good and we were all so proud of him.  I pray that Jeremy & Tiffany raise him to know the Lord.  After we went to lunch and of course Flat Stanley had to join us today.

May 14, 2011 - Flat Stanley

Have you ever heard of Flat Stanley?  Well I have, my little cousin, Chelsea from North Carolina made one in school and he is currently visiting us in Michigan.  Flat Stanley is going to have so much fun with us here and we are excited to entertain him.  He arrived today and has already helped me cook dinner.  We made turkey, stuffing, corn and noodles.  Flat Stanley was a great assistant.

Our two dogs, Mocha and Ella seem to be having some fun with Flat Stanley as well.  I did find Flat Stanley taking a break from cooking and playing Xbox and switching from channel to channel on the TV.  That's our adventures for today more exciting times tomorrow.  Good night Flat Stanley.

May 11, 2011 - A little bit of sweetness

Finally a day where I am feeling back to myself.  As I peered out the kitchen window I could see my tulips finally blooming and wanted to get a photo of them.  I also had a piece of white foam board so I placed that behind the flower to obtain the white background.  Just love how it came out, think I might even make it into a card. 



May 8, 2011 - Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day and I can't help but reflect on how lucky I am to be a mom.  This week has been a scary week for me due to some health issues and it has really reinforced how important family is.  I've always been the type to notice the little things in life and today I couldn't help but notice how many dandelions there were in our nieghborhood.  Normally we would look at these as weeds that continue to destroy our lawns, but today I see an abundant beauty of yellow streaming across the lawn.
