Cupcake Tuesday

My sweet step-daughter brought me a Strawberry Shortcake cupcake from a new bakery that just opened in town.  The icing is literally about 3" high and it smells just divine!!!!  I can't wait to dig into it later tonight for my snack.  Mmmmm, I wonder if it is fat-free, NOT!

More Macro Photography

I am really liking these extension tubes, but I find it hard to manually focus at time due to the weight and my excitement with this new experience.  I will get better with time & practice!!

Macro Photography

I've always wanted to play around with macro photography but not ready to purchase a macro lens.  My girlfriend and I decided to purchase some extension tubes to experiment with.  Some of you may be asking, "What is macro photography?"  Basically it is close up photography with a 1:1 or closer magnification.

Here are a few shots I took today just playing around with the tubes.

Storms always bring interesting cloud formations and tonight was no different.  This one looks like a headless jeanie to me.  What do you think?

Northern Michigan Winter Storm

Northern Michigan is an absolutely beautiful state and in the winter it continues to amaze me.  I used one of my photos for my weekly photo challenge so I wanted to post the additional shots from today.  Just beautiful!

 

 

 

Wk 9 Photo Challenge - A Great Leap

This weeks photo challenge is  "A Great Leap" by Life With My 3 Boybarians.  At first I thought this would be a difficult shoot but it actually turned out to be very easy.  My husband has a bowling tournament this weekend up in Norhtern Michigan so I decided to tag along for a much needed weekend away.  Little did we know that we were going to encounter a snow storm and today we woke up to appx 12" of snow!

Many would look at this as a day inside, but I decided after dropping my husband off at the bowling alley that I was going on a photo shoot as my "Great Leap" (of course I had his 4 wheel drive truck)!  I was able to capture some amazing shots, this is my favorite from today.  I'll post the rest in a new post once I have them completed.
